Pro Progressio releases the FOCUS ON Katowice 2025 report

Pro Progressio has published the latest edition of its FOCUS ON report, offering an up-to-date overview of Katowice as one of Poland’s key business and technology hubs. The publication highlights how the city and the wider Górnośląsko-Zagłębiowska Metropolis (GZM) continue to strengthen their position in the business services sector.

The report points to the scale of the local office market, which now exceeds 760,000 m² of modern space, as well as the growing presence of technology projects and IT centres that today account for more than half of the city’s BSS activity. It also underscores the importance of transport infrastructure, including Katowice Airport, which has recorded strong growth in both passenger and cargo traffic in recent years, improving regional accessibility for investors.

The publication also notes the District of New Technologies project, seen as a potential long-term driver of digital competencies and innovation in the city. A key part of the GZM business ecosystem is its educational base – universities and vocational institutions that train specialists in areas such as IT, finance, engineering and business processes, ensuring a robust talent pipeline for the BSS sector.

The report further highlights the strong performance of Katowice and the Katowice Special Economic Zone (KSSE) in national and international investment rankings, reinforcing the region’s competitiveness. Investors can benefit from a broad package of incentives, including tax relief of up to 60% of eligible costs under the KSSE, as well as comprehensive institutional support – from location analysis through the investment process to aftercare.

Katowice is not waiting for the future – it is actively shaping it. Investors find here the people, the momentum and the practical support that allow them to grow faster and more boldly. This report clearly shows that our city is a place where good ideas truly have room to develop, says Mariusz Jankowski, Head of the Investor Services Department at the Katowice City Hall.

This edition marks the first in the “FOCUS ON” series to be prepared in a new horizontal layout.

At Pro Progressio, we continuously analyse a wide range of micro- and macroeconomic trends, including the investment appeal of cities and regions. These analyses directly influence the content and format of our reports. Our goal is to ensure that the “FOCUS ON” series remains optimally tailored to the needs of stakeholders in Poland and abroad. In our latest report, “FOCUS ON Katowice”, we introduced two key changes. First, we broadened the scope of presented data, and second, we shifted from a vertical to a horizontal layout – allowing information to be displayed more clearly and used much like presentation slides, explains Wiktor Doktór, CEO of Pro Progressio.

The FOCUS ON Katowice report was prepared by Pro Progressio in cooperation with the Katowice City Hall, Cushman & Wakefield, and Randstad. The publication is available free of charge, in both Polish and English, on the ARENA Pro Progressio knowledge platform.
